Acterra is excited to host an intimate, monthly edition of our Green@Home Tour series at the Bell-Brown residence in Palo Alto! This free, community-powered gathering offered a unique opportunity to explore real-life sustainable living in action, up close and on a recurring basis.

The Bell-Brown family opens their doors to showcase their electrified home and its many climate-friendly features. Attendees will have the chance to view an all-electric, two-bedroom ADU (exterior only – newly completed), an induction cooktop, an electric HVAC system with heat pump heating and cooling, a heat pump water heater, an EV charging setup with electric vehicles, and additional green home upgrades with water- and energy-saving features.

You’ll also have the chance to ask questions, hear firsthand why and how the Bell-Brown family made their sustainable choices, and gain practical tips on appliance selection, contractor experiences, and rebates or incentives that can make green living more affordable.

This summer, Acterra is proud to present the East Bay Green@Home Tours 2026! This is a free, community-powered event that invites the public to explore innovative, electrified homes. On Saturday, June 6th, from 11AM to 3PM, explore homes throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, ranging from new construction to those transitioning from gas. Gain valuable insights from tour hosts on appliance selection, contractor decisions, installation processes, tax credits and incentives, making your transition to electric living informed and cost-effective.

Attendees will have the chance to see firsthand a wide variety of electric appliances and environmentally-conscious home upgrades including energy-efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling, heat pump water heaters, induction cooktops, rainwater catchments, compost bins, electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, battery storage systems, and more. Attendees will also be able to engage with tour hosts to learn about their choices, including financial considerations, rebate programs, contractors, and appliance models.
