Bay Area EV Coordinating Council
Sharing knowledge to accelerate electric vehicle adoption across the Bay Area and beyond
The Bay Area Electric Vehicle Coordinating Council, or EV Council, is a peer-to-peer forum of diverse stakeholders that meets several times a year, often hosting expert panels to discuss new EV trends, information, and best practices for projects.

This in-person meeting was not recorded.
Public charging infrastructure is the backbone of EV adoption, but deploying chargers is only half the battle. The real challenge — and opportunity — is operating them well. Partners across the region grapple with real day to day complications with keeping the charging network up and running. Can new business models ease some of the burden? We will consider options such as passing operations and maintenance of the charging network from public sector staff to a private vendor, as is being explored by some counties, and other potential approaches. This meeting brings together public agency staff, utilities, charging operators, and private sector partners to learn what it actually takes to run a successful public charging network amid a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. special guest Claudia Eyzaguirre, Specialist with the CEC, presented on new state-level reporting and reliability standards for EV chargers.

Steering Committee
The EV Council benefits from a steering committee that advises the facilitation team on industry developments and helps shape meeting topics and format. Steering committee members connect with other industry thought leaders and actively contribute to important discussions. Members commit about six hours per year to steering committee meetings. We seek to have a broad representation of sectors on the steering committee.
