Acterra’s You(th) Be the Change (YBtC) Program is looking for a high school intern for the 2024-25 school year! The intern will gain first-hand experience in advocacy-oriented communications in the environmental field. Main responsibilities will be creating social channels content, marketing strategies, tone, and vibe. In addition, this candidate will also be aiding in developing YBtC’s middle school curriculum about environmental concepts, including climate change. 

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, flexible M-F schedule, remote

Qualifications:

Must be a confident and skilled writer
Must be comfortable doing research from reliable sources to create engaging lessons
Must be self-directed/self-driven/comfortable with working independently
Experience and enthusiasm for creating content for social media platforms, including: Tiktok, Instagram, and Pinterest
Experience using Canva or other graphic creation software
Experience/Interest in the environmental and climate change space within the Bay Area preferred

Desired Qualifications:
Candidate would ideally be in 10,11, or 12th grade
Experience leading student clubs or organizations
