Join Acterra for a lively morning of volunteering and community building at the new Food Forest site in the Orchard at Veggielution Farm. Volunteers should come prepared to be active and get a little dirty doing weeding, mulching, and other maintenance tasks to get the orchard site ready for new plantings. You’ll learn about the benefits of food forests and help make tangible progress in this long-term project to increase fresh food access for the San Jose community. Tools, gloves, training, and restrooms will be available. Bring sun protection and a refillable water bottle.

All volunteers must sign-in upon arriving to the farm, which includes a liability waiver. You must be age 13 or older to volunteer on the farm. Middle and High School students, ages 13 to 17, MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone.

*Note on Weather: In the event we need to cancel a volunteer event due to extreme weather, we will notify you via email, otherwise please assume we will hold volunteer events rain or shine, and dress accordingly.

*Note on Volunteer Hours: We are happy to sign off on hours if you need them, however, we ask that you please provide your own form or letter for us to sign. Veggielution staff will only sign-off on hours if a form is provided at time of volunteering.

*Note on Dress Code: No jewelry, body piercings, rhinestones, dangling strings, ear buds or other items that can fall off into the growing area, packing area, or harvested product are allowed. Volunteers will be asked to remove items and store in a safe place or cover with tape.
