California’s multi-family residents deserve the same easy and affordable access to power for EV charging that single-family residents have enjoyed since 2015. To expand access to the environmental, health, and financial benefits of clean transportation, the EV Charging for All Coalition advocates for equitable electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in building codes across the United States.

We envision a world where all Californians and all Americans can access affordable electrified transportation at home or at work.
This includes in multi-family housing, especially in the communities most burdened by air pollution. Equitable access increases EV adoption; allows all residents to affordably charge EVs and enjoy the environmental and financial benefits that go along with owning an EV; and helps California and other states achieve ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving a livable climate for all.
By organizing a diverse coalition representing multiple stakeholders, we strengthen state building codes, programs, and policies to ensure 100% access to affordable and convenient EV charging for all, especially for residents of multi-family housing who will otherwise continue to lack access to the benefits of EVs.
“California’s transportation sector accounts for roughly 50% of the state’s GHGs, nearly 80% of NOX pollution, and 90% of diesel particulate matter pollution. We need to transition our transportation.”
Whether homeowner or renter; urban, suburban or rural; in single- or multi-family housing; high-, moderate- or low-income; and with on- or off-street parking
We partner with anyone who shares our goals, including climate and environmental justice organizations, faith communities, elected officials, labor unions, apartment and condo residents and owners, clean transportation advocates, automakers and EV service companies.
