Climate change is emerging as THE issue confronting humanity in the 21st Century. Green@Home answers the question, "What can I do about global warming?" We show people ways to save energy and reduce the burning of fossil fuels − while helping their neighbors and building community.
Three ways to get involved:
1. Become a Green@Home volunteer. Learn some basic "handyperson" skills and help your neighbors save energy and protect our climate. Two person teams will make scheduled HouseCalls to residents, installing energy saving devices and doing a home energy audit.
Green@Home needs volunteers for programs in Redwood City, Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale beginning in Fall 2008.
Volunteer Training consists of two FREE classes where participants will receive instruction and have a chance to practice their new skills. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to attend all Volunteer Training classes. To register, contact Liz Muir at (650) 962-9876 x350.

2. Request a FREE HouseCall. Acterra's trained volunteers will offer you five energy-saving upgrades and create a customized conservation plan for your household.
HouseCalls will be available for residents of Redwood City, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto, starting in September 2008. HouseCalls will also be available in parts of Sunnyvale later in Fall 2008.
3. Help grow the Green@Home project. Work in our office, do outreach to other communities, prepare written materials, create graphics − all skills are needed!
Each of us can make a difference. Green@Home starts in our homes, making small changes that add up to a significant impact − and develops the community spirit that results in policy level shifts, as well. Join us in building a grassroots movement to curb climate change!
