Key Impact Areas:
- Acterra’s Carbon Reduction programs go beyond informing people of issues and what they can do — we promote action by providing free in-home energy audits, community carbon-reduction campaigns, and green living forums. Through our unique approach of supporting personal behavior change, hundreds of people are living more sustainably and sharing their successes with others.
- As a leading Bay Area habitat restoration specialist, Acterra rejuvenates local lands and waterways to ecological health, engaging hundreds of volunteers, including youth. We educate and inspire residents to preserve the beauty, health, and recreation value of our protected open spaces for current and future generations.
- Each year, Acterra trains about 30 new environmental leaders in the skills they need to take action within the places where they work, live, worship and play. Students design and implement projects that directly benefit the environment, in areas such as solar energy, water conservation, and CO2 reduction.
